ouroboros-runner help

help prints the agent's usage on standard output and exits 0. The usage lists every command, its flags and the environment variables behind them. It is the agent's own summary; these pages expand on it.

Synopsis

ouroboros-runner help

It takes no flags.

Example

$ ouroboros-runner help
ouroboros-runner — the Ouroboros build farm agent.

Usage:
ouroboros-runner enroll --server URL --tenant NAME --pool NAME --token TOKEN
[--name NAME] [--state-dir DIR] [--server-ca FILE]
[--bearer-fallback]
…

Other ways to see the usage

  • ouroboros-runner -h prints the same text to standard error and exits 0.
  • For enroll, run and heartbeat, a mistyped flag or -h after the command, such as ouroboros-runner enroll -h, prints it too. It goes to standard error, followed by a no such command: line, and the agent exits 1.
  • Running ouroboros-runner with no command prints only the no such command: line and exits 1, so a service unit missing its command never looks like a success.

What can go wrong

  • The usage differs from these pages — the agent on the machine is a different version. Run version to see which, and upgrade with install.sh.
