ouroboros-runner version
version prints which build of the agent this is, the protocol versions it speaks, and what it
sees of this machine. It needs no network and no enrollment. Use it to check an upgrade landed. Also
use it to compare the agent's protocol range with the minimum a deployment's refusal names.
Synopsis
ouroboros-runner version
It takes no flags.
Example
$ ouroboros-runner version
ouroboros-runner 0.8.0
protocol 1 (speaks 1–1)
arch linux/x86_64
hostname shed-pi-01
cpus 16
memory 29853 MB
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
ouroboros-runner | The agent's version. |
protocol | The newest protocol version it speaks, and the whole range it can speak. A deployment that needs a newer protocol refuses the agent, naming the minimum. |
arch | The platform: linux/x86_64, linux/arm64 or darwin/arm64. |
hostname | The machine's hostname. A runner enrolled without --name is named after it. |
cpus, memory | The cores and installed memory the agent reports to the deployment. |
install.sh runs version on the binary it downloads and refuses one whose
first line is not the release it asked for.
What can go wrong
- The version is not the one you installed — another
ouroboros-runnercomes first on yourPATH. The installer puts the agent in/usr/local/bin/ouroboros-runner, so run that path to check.
